Yearly Thing 2025
The Yearly Thing is an annual compilation of curated links from the Weekly Thing newsletter. It captures a year of reading, thinking, and sharing about technology and digital life, organized into themed chapters.
This 2025 edition collects 324 links from Weekly Thing issues 306 through 336, spanning January through December 2025. Each link includes the original commentary from the newsletter, preserved exactly as written.
The collection is organized into ten chapters covering AI and agents, software craft, privacy and encryption, cryptocurrency, the Apple ecosystem, the open web, attention and algorithms, leadership, health and society, and useful tools. A Weekly Thing Index includes QR codes linking to every original issue. An afterword reflects on the year's themes.
The dominant thread of 2025 was the rise of AI agents. Roughly one third of all links explore what it means to build, work, and create alongside artificial intelligence.
For Weekly Thing readers, it is a keepsake. For everyone else, it is a curated window into a year on the web. Curious, critical, and worth your attention.
